Jason and Carla are both natives of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, married more than twenty years, raising four children and now seven grandchildren on this coast. In August 2005, Hurricane Katrina took nearly everything they had built — a small coffee house in Old Town Bay St. Louis, and the home they were raising their family in.
What it didn’t take was their commitment to this community. Their first real project was a remodel for a homeowner who’d been taken advantage of by a shady contractor. That job became a mission — build homes the right way, with no gaps for someone else’s mistakes to hide in. Early on, they were drawn to what they called Classic Coastal Cottages, and a brand began to take shape around that look and feel: The Coast Is Calling.
Twenty years and hundreds of custom homes later, that mission became Thornhill Construction — a full-service design-build firm that owns every layer of the process, from the first sketch to the final walkthrough.
Most builders hand you a phone book of subcontractors and hope for the best. Over two decades we stopped handing off the critical path and started owning it ourselves.
